This was so straight to the point and helpful! I select the image and go to image trace and still nothing happens. It works, but I can no longer apply Image Trace.
I can select and a rectangle will appear around my image but all the elements on the image has those points all over them! I have to thank you every time I watch this one!

Illustrator is the most shittiest software I have used in ages. Hi Im quite new to all of this and I Downloaded some images from Adobe Stock with transparent backrounds. Then learned I needed illustrator to get rid of the Checkerboard pattern. So when I open up the image in AI and go to layers there arer no multiple layers to remove the backround. I just have Layer 1.
When I expand it i just get one that says. I have a simple 2d letter logo. When I try to get rid of the white background, expand is greyed out.
Any ideas? I have seen several tutorials for this. None of them explained it this way. I have been trying to figure this out for a few days.
